Sarah Palin is coming to Donald Trump’s defense again, taking his side in another spat with presidential rival Jeb Bush. Specifically, she says that everyone living in America should be able to “speak American.”

In an interview on Sunday morning, CNN anchor Jake Tapper laid out the argument that Trump and Bush were having over the language one should use while campaigning for President of the United States. “Donald Trump said this week that Jeb Bush should speak English and not Spanish when he’s campaigning in the U.S.,” Tapper said. “Jeb Bush’s response was that Trump doesn’t value tolerance. What did you make of that debate?”

On the one hand, Palin praised Jeb Bush’s ability to connect with the United States’ “large and wonderful” Hispanic population through their language: “On the other hand, you know, I think we can send a message of saying, ‘You want to be in America? A) You better be here legally, or you’re out of here. B) When you’re here, let’s speak American.'”

Palin may have realized her mistake, because she quickly says “speak English” after using the “speak American” phrase, calling it a unifying language that everybody in America should understand. It’s possible though that she was trying to underline her point with the particular phrasing that she used at first.

Besides this interview, Palin is having a busy Labor Day weekend. Mediaite reports that there’s currently a petition on the White House website to rename a mountain in Ohio after the former Alaska governor. This is in reference to the controversy over President Obama changing the name of Mount McKinley — named after former Ohio governor and U.S. president William McKinley — in Alaska back to Denali.
